San Francisco, information technology firm Cognizant reported on Monday the purchase of Inawisdom, a privately-held AI, machine learning and data analytics consultancy, for an undisclosed amount.
This marks the ninth acquisition of Cognizant in 2020. This year alone, the company has spent more than $1.1 billion in investments in fields such as computing and artificial intelligence, digital technology, cloud and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Amazon Web Services (AWSleading )’s advisory partner, Inawisdom, will further drive Cognizant’s creativity in data modernization and smart decision-making, according to the release.
“Cognizant and Inawisdom’s clients will benefit from our shared, deep relationships with AWS and our combined expertise with AI, machine learning, cloud, and data analytics,” said Malcolm Frank, Founder, Digital Business, Cognizant.
Inawisdom focuses on providing cloud-based, full-stack solutions that incorporate proven consulting methodologies and an AWS-based analytics and machine learning platform.

Inawisdom has developed the AWS cloud-based Rapid Analytics and Machine Learning Framework (RAMP) to provide a rapidly evolving and reusable code repository and accelerate AI-driven market outcomes.
Using RAMP, combined with its own Agile consultancy approach, Inawisdom supports clients in multiple usage cases from enhancing supply chain performance to improving customer service and reducing operating costs, often producing outcomes within weeks.
