Under new CEO K. Krithivasan, TCS has revamped its senior management and put in place a new operating structure.
K. Ananth Krishnan, its executive VP and CTO, will retire in October and immediately cease to be an SMP (senior management personnel). Harrick Vin, who will replace Krishnan, is a TCS fellow and chief services innovation officer and is among the new SMPs. For over 30 years, he has been in academia and industry, and he has been with TCS for 18 years. Harrick, prior to this role, headed Digitate, TCS’ software venture that uses AI and automation to transform digital operations.
Rajashree R., chief marketing officer of TCS, is no longer an SMP. Abhinav Kumar will be taking over as the interim head of marketing and communication units globally. Five other leaders were designated as SMPs: Shankar Narayanan, V Rajanna, Siva Ganesan, Ashok Pai, and Reguraman Ayyaswamy.
Narayanan, who is an SVP at TCS and has been with the company for over 30 years, has held various roles, including as the global head of the retail, CPG, travel, and hospitality businesses and business excellence and transformation of large accounts.
Rajanna is SVP and the head of the communications, media, and technology businesses.
For the Microsoft business unit, Ganesan is the SVP and global head.
Pai is designated as the SVP and the global head of cognitive business operations.
For the internet of things (IoT) and digital engineering units, Ayyaswamy is SVP and the global head.
The new appointments will be effective on August 1.
A new operating structure is being put in place that regroups its existing ISUs (industry service units) under business groups, Krithivasan said in an email to employees. “I believe these changes will help in deepening customer centricity, which is pivotal to our growth,” he said.
