Under the ‘Guwahati Smart City’ initiative, the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) said it has picked Vi Business, the enterprise arm of Vodafone Idea, as its smart city partner.
GMC will provide Vi Business’ Intelligent Mobility solutions to Guwahati Municipal Swacch Bharat workers under this partnership.
To monitor the field staffs operation through real-time dashboards round-the-clock, the geo-tagged and geo-fenced Vi Mobility SIM cards will also enable the corporation.
The Vi Business’ SIMs that can be used with feature phones, as well as smartphones, will ensure GMC employees stay connected to Vi Business’ network. This will, in turn, help GMC ensure the safety of field staff and improve efficiency of day-to-day operations, said an official statement.
On Monday in the presence of government officials and Vodafone Idea officials, the partnership was officially launched in Guwahati by Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam.
