Tower is seeking government incentives for its ambition to build 65 and 40 nanometer semiconductors in India, according to the article.
Requests for response were not immediately responded to by the corporation or India’s IT ministry.
Chip production is a significant component of Modi’s business agenda, but initial efforts to provide $10 billion in incentives to the industry have failed, with several initiatives postponed or withdrawn.
