The Swiss company Schlatter Industries, which discovered on Friday that malware had infiltrated its IT network, said that it was probably a professional attack.

Malware was used in a cyberattack against the group on Friday, and it stated that the unidentified attackers were trying to “blackmail Schlatter” but provided no further information. Schlatter stated that professionals were trying to restore availability and functionality to all systems as the group looked into the possibility of data theft.

The engineering firm said that it alerted the appropriate authorities and started security measures right away.
