Durex India data leak reveals sensitive customer information

Durex India experienced a serious data theft, exposing sensitive consumer information. Sourajeet Majumder, a security researcher, observed that weak security on the brand’s order confirmation page resulted in the exposure of consumers’ names, phone numbers, email addresses, shipping information, and order information. The attack might affect hundreds of customers, causing fears about identity theft and social harassment.

Majumder contacted India’s Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), but Durex’s parent company, Reckitt, has yet to respond to the matter.

“A leak as such not only puts the customer’s security at risk but also makes them exposed to social harassment or moral security,” according to Majumder.
