McDonald's Philippines and TCS collaborate to modernize and standardize IT operations

In order to standardize and modernize the IT operations of over 760 McDonald’s outlets nationwide, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has partnered with Golden Arches Development Corporation (GADC), the master franchise holder of McDonald’s in the Philippines, for a two-year period. This is TCS and McDonald’s first joint venture in the Asia-Pacific area.

TCS will upgrade McDonald’s current systems in the Philippines as part of this strategy by moving them to the cloud-based SAP S/4HANA on the RISE platform. TCS will modernize GADC’s IT infrastructure by utilizing its vast experience in SAP-led business systems transformation. This will allow for enhanced insights, more informed decision-making, and maximized operational efficiency.

Approximately 95% of McDonald’s restaurants are owned and run by independent local company owners. McDonald’s is one of the largest foodservice merchants in the world, with over 42,000 outlets in over 100 countries as of 2023. GADC has grown significantly in the Philippines in recent years thanks to its dedication to digital transformation, which includes standardizing its IT systems across the country.

In order to provide GADC with complete data management and automation solutions, TCS will also incorporate further SAP features. The effectiveness of the fast-food chain will be greatly increased by these improvements in areas including financial management, materials management, project management, sales and distribution, user interface, and master data management.
