Kishore Durg becomes the new group operating officer for technology at Accenture

Kishore Durg was promoted to group operating officer of Accenture’s technology division today. Karthik Narain, the group chief executive for technology and chief technology officer, will be his supervisor.

With effect from December 1, 2024, Durg will be headquartered in India. His promotion coincides with Jeremy Oates’s impending retirement from Accenture in 2025 after more than ten years as the company’s global operating officer.

In addition to his new duties, Durg, who has over 25 years of international expertise in the technology sector, will continue to serve as senior managing director of Accenture LearnVantage. Additionally, he will remain a member of the Global Leadership Council of Accenture.
The three main service areas for Accenture are operations, technology, and strategy & consulting. In FY24, the Technology segment generated $42 billion in revenue, followed by Strategy & Consulting ($14 billion) and Operations ($9 billion).
In his former position as head of Accenture’s Operations Supply Chain, Industry X, and Networks divisions, Durg was instrumental in emphasising the technology ecosystem as a crucial point of differentiation in the marketplace. He oversaw the conception, creation, and uptake of important Accenture Cloud First platforms like Sovereign Cloud Advisor, Green Cloud Advisor, and myNAV Cloud Platform before that.

According to the company’s press statement, Durg led Cloud First’s extremely successful mergers and acquisitions strategy, which resulted in more than 40 acquisitions, while he was the Growth Strategy Lead for Technology at Accenture.

Durg has a B.E. in computer science from the University of Mysore and an M.S. in computer science from the University of Texas in Arlington, USA. His present residence is in Bengaluru, India. Durg takes over for Jeremy Oates, who will retire from Accenture Technologies in 2025 after more than ten years as group operating officer.

Arundhati Chakraborty was promoted to group chief executive of Accenture Operations, the company announced in August of this year.
