Cooperation between TUL and the Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime is strengthened

Cybersecurity is a serious problem that affects both daily living and scientific study. This collaboration between TUL and the CBZP attempts to address these new issues in light of the increasing incidence of online crime. Regarding the agreement’s importance, Professor Krzysztof Jóźwik said:

‘From the university’s perspective, this agreement is extremely important. Cybercrime is one of the most dangerous and often invisible threats. A stark example occurred in Łódź in 2022, when hackers targeted the medical institution, causing a database crash. This incident highlighted the severity of the threat. I am confident that the long-standing, excellent cooperation between the Police and Lodz University of Technology will play a key role in combating cybercrime. This agreement is yet another step in addressing a critical issue that continues to grow in scale, affecting not just students and staff, but society as a whole.’

Junior Inspector Michał Pudło also emphasized the significance of the collaboration:

‘We are pleased to sign this agreement. It is a great honor for us to work with such a respected institution as Lodz University of Technology. As the Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime, we will do everything in our power to ensure this partnership reaches its fullest potential.’

The agreement establishes the foundation for collaboration in the development of critical professional skills as well as the deployment and evaluation of novel computer science technologies and solutions, such as computer forensics. The program will mainly target TUL’s employees and students, but it will also involve planning events for the neighbourhood.
