Gorakhpur's Government to curb cybercrime by implementing significant steps

Gorakhpur is making a big move to shield the general public from the rise in cybercrime. The Yogi government is starting a new project to give the public a special handbook that will tell them about all the safety measures they may take to prevent cybercrime.

The primary goal of the government is to teach youth about cyber security. Every office, school, and public service facility in the state is participating in a cyber security awareness campaign. Since young people are the most susceptible to cybercrime in today’s digital world, the government is concentrating on educating them about cybersecurity.

Young people are often targeted in cases of social media fraud, identity theft, dating applications, and gaming apps. The government is making a special effort to teach youth about cyber security in this regard.

Cybersecurity Awareness is the Main Goal

With an emphasis on teaching young people about cyber security, the government has started a cyber security awareness program in all offices, schools, and public service centres throughout the state. Young people are the most susceptible to cybercrime in today’s digital age.

Important Tips

  • Your UPI PIN should not be disclosed to anybody.
  • Avoid clicking on unidentified net banking URLs.
  • Don’t use public Wi-Fi to do banking transactions.
  • Never accept friend invitations on social media from strangers without first confirming their identity.
  • Only download apps and games from authorised retailers.

A special handbook will be distributed

A unique handbook that explains how to prevent cybercrime, such as identity theft, credit card fraud, UPI fraud, net banking fraud, e-commerce fraud, and social media fraud, will be distributed throughout the month of cyber security awareness.

Youth are the main Focus

In today’s digital environment, youth are the most susceptible to cybercrime, so the government is concentrating on educating them about cybersecurity. Young people are often targeted in cases of social media fraud, identity theft, dating applications, and gaming apps. The government wants youth to understand cyber security and spread that knowledge to their families and the wider community.

Some Important Tips to Avoid Cybercrime

Avoiding banking transactions while using public Wi-Fi, avoiding sharing your UPI PIN with others, avoiding clicking on unknown links for net banking, refusing friend requests from strangers on social media without verification, and only downloading gaming and other apps from authorized stores are some crucial ways to prevent cybercrime.

According to SSP Dr. Gaurav Grover, the goal of this statewide campaign is to inform all residents about cyber security and provide them with the tools they need to prevent cybercrime.
