Mathan Babu Kasilingam says goodbye to Vodafone

Mathan Babu Kasilingam leaves Vodafone Idea with sincere gratitude following a significant tenure as CISO. He looks forward to the upcoming chances and challenges as he closes this chapter. He had previously worked for HDFC Bank and NPCI.

“It has been a rewarding experience working alongside the exceptional teams at Vodafone Idea. My time here has profoundly shaped my perspective on the cybersecurity industry, with agility emerging as a crucial metric for success. I wish Vi all the best, confident that its brightest days are yet to come,” Kasilingam commented while discussing his exit.

Kasilingam posts on LinkedIn to announce his departure:

There are always going to be hellos and goodbyes in life. It’s goodbye for me today. In the great scheme of things, my nearly four years with Vodafone Idea Limited is not a short journey. It’s time for me to say, ‘keep in touch, best of luck, and take care,’ with a heavy heart.

Working in such a fast-paced, demanding environment with wonderful people to learn from and pick the brains of, especially the senior management leadership team, the technology leadership team of Vi, other stakeholders at Vi, and the partners who helped shape Vi, has been an absolute pleasure.

Being with Vodafone and idea (Vi) has altered my perspective on the cybersecurity sector, organisational culture, and how agility is essential for success and how to maintain leadership in the field while working with limited resources that many would otherwise have access to.
I’ve also discovered that questioning the established quo is essential, not optional. For better or worse.

Vi’s best days are still to come, and I’m excited to see what the future brings. One of the most fulfilling experiences of my life was working as CTSO & DPO and collaborating with such an amazing, committed team to achieve everything we have.
To all my colleagues, friends, and everyone who I crossed paths with, thank you for making the last four years so special.

The page flips to a new chapter now.”
