Gopi Thangavel is now the Group CIO of Larsen & Toubro. He previously held the position of Senior Vice President at Reliance Industries Limited, where he played a key role in overseeing enterprise infrastructure for a number of industries, including e-commerce, retail, life sciences, petrochemicals, and hydrocarbons.
In addition to managing crucial security and compliance, Gopi oversaw a sizable infrastructure operations team that handled network operations, data centres, cloud environments, and digital workplaces. He formerly served as Director of IT Infrastructure at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, where he oversaw IT infrastructure at several locations throughout the world with an emphasis on cost reduction, security, and regulatory compliance.
Among his accomplishments include senior positions at Agility GIL Shared Services, where he created IT strategy and put disaster recovery plans into place, and Wipro, where he managed IT operations, ISO certifications, and cost-cutting projects.
