German asset management DWS Group has consolidated its Portfolio Management, Chief Investment Office, and Economic Research divisions and appointed Vincenzo Vedda as its global chief investment officer (CIO).
As the global head of portfolio management – public markets, Vedda will assume the new role while still overseeing the group’s whole liquid portfolio.
He takes up the position from Björn Jesch, who left the firm amicably.
Jesch became global CIO at the end of 2022 after joining DWS in 2020 as Head of Multi Asset & Solutions. Additionally, he is leaving his position as CEO of DWS CH AG in Zurich; a replacement will be named shortly.
Since joining DWS in 2013, Vedda has risen through several important positions.
He co-led Global Equities Trading when he first joined DWS in 2013.
He was promoted to head of global trade in 2017, and Vedda assumed responsibility for DWS’s worldwide wholesale and European client operations (except from Germany and Austria) in 2020.
