Former MITRE Labs Infrastructure and Networking Innovation Center managing director Dave Scher revealed on LinkedIn on Sunday that he had been promoted to deputy chief information officer at the non-profit organization.
Beginning in 2011 as a project lead, the executive has been with MITRE for more than ten years. After that, he took on positions with greater responsibility, such as director of NetCentric infrastructure and head of the department responsible for cyber infrastructure.
Scher was in charge of coordinating efforts across the Department of Defense’s procurement, command, and warfighting divisions as the technical director of the Nuclear Enterprise Division. This was done to sustain strategic deterrence as well as the command, control, and communications capabilities that will be required in the future.
As a department leader, Scher oversaw a technical team of fifty employees who were responsible for delivering IT solutions with an emphasis on business application and underlying infrastructure integration.
