Magnus Roe has been appointed as Aon plc’s worldwide chief data and analytics officer. His duties include expanding the organization’s analytics capabilities and assisting clients in making data-driven decisions.
Singapore, which is Aon’s global analytics hub, will be home to Roe (pictured).
He will answer to Aon’s chief operational officer, Mindy Simon. Additionally, he will work with important executives including Lambros Lambrou, the CEO of human capital, and Andy Marcell, the CEO of risk capital.
Aon’s new global chief data and analytics officer
Roe will spearhead initiatives to incorporate data strategy, governance, and artificial intelligence into the business’ analytics platform in his new role. In order to manage regulatory difficulties and guarantee data protection throughout Aon’s operations, he will also collaborate closely with compliance departments.
Simon emphasized Roe’s strategic contributions to Aon’s analytics activities in his remarks regarding the appointment.
“Magnus brings extensive experience as the former head of strategy for risk analytics, where he showed remarkable leadership and vision for the firm, shaping the strategic path for reinsurance analytics and future capabilities for Commercial Risk Solutions,” she said.
According to Roe, the appointment presents a chance to boost innovation in the business.
“I am thrilled to lead this exceptional team as we continue to innovate at scale, leveraging our global expertise and proprietary capabilities to advance how we serve clients and enable colleagues,” he said.
Roe was previously the global chief operating officer for reinsurance analytics and the head of strategy for risk analytics at Aon. In these capacities, he promoted client-focused solutions and improved the firm’s analytical tools.
Aon’s global chief claims officer
Following the appointment of Mona Barnes as its global chief claims officer, who will oversee the company’s global claims operations, Aon announced the hiring of a new global chief data and analytics officer.
Barnes works with teams from several areas to match claims services with client objectives and industry demands. He reports to Joe Peiser, CEO of Aon’s commercial risk sector.
Since joining Aon in 2023, Barnes has been in charge of the global broking center and UK claims operations. She was vice president for foreign claims management at Chubb before joining Aon, and she oversaw the large-loss and key-case management team at Swiss Re Group. She is also a member of the RAND Institute for Civil Justice’s advisory board.
Barnes’ new position centers on improving claims results and providing clients with effective services while encouraging cooperation with insurers and other stakeholders.
