Scammers placed a 51-year-old man under digital arrest and attempted to extort Rs. 16 lakh from him in the second case. Following a complaint, the police filed a case and, after speaking with the bank officials, were able to freeze Rs. 12 lakh. With the assistance of cybercrime police, the money was returned to the victim’s bank account.
