One of the world’s fastest-growing providers of data center colocation services, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC), announced that it has partnered with Zenlayer, the first hyperconnected cloud, to offer high-performance private connectivity to STT GDC’s global data center platform, initially in a few Southeast Asian (SEA) markets.
Customers can benefit from improved network performance, lower latency, and easier access to vital IT resources thanks to STT GDC’s data center interconnectivity (DCI) solutions, which offer a smooth and secure connection between its owned and operated data center facilities and other important locations like internet exchanges and cloud providers.
Customers can now connect to STT GDC’s Data Center Interconnection Hubs in Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam via Zenlayer’s Private Connect. They will be able to take advantage of carrier-grade reliability and high-speed connectivity by utilizing Zenlayer’s global private backbone, which will allow them to effortlessly connect locations around the globe for improved performance and flexibility. This combined solution will be gradually implemented throughout STT GDC’s global data center portfolio.
“As businesses become increasingly interconnected across the globe, the need for reliable, high-performance data center connectivity has never been greater. This partnership with Zenlayer allows us to deliver a superior network experience to our customers, no matter where they operate, and to ensure that they can meet the evolving demands of the digital economy and maintain a competitive edge,” said Lionel Yeo, CEO—Southeast Asia, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres.
“We are glad to join forces with ST Telemedia Global Data Centres,” said Joe Han, Chief Operating Officer of Zenlayer. “The partnership underscores our commitment to delivering world-class connectivity solutions across Asia. By combining our strengths, we are well-positioned to provide global businesses with the infrastructure they need to thrive in today’s competitive digital landscape.”
The need for effective data center interconnectivity is growing as a result of the quick expansion of data from several sources, such as cloud services and the Internet of Things, as well as technological breakthroughs like artificial intelligence and 5G. At a cumulative annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14.98%, the data center interconnect market is expected to reach over US$28 billion by 2029, having grown from over US$14 billion in 2024. Notably, the Asia Pacific area is anticipated to have the world’s fastest rate of market expansion.
