Salil Hajarnis was named Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Poonawalla Fincorp, a non-banking financial enterprise supported by the Cyrus Poonawalla Group, on Tuesday.
Along with the arrival of the new CTO, there have been other notable changes in leadership, including the appointment of Harsh Kumar as the new CHRO in July 2024 and Arvind Kapil as the new MD and CEO of Poonawalla Fincorp in June 2024.
On September 11, 2024, the board of directors confirmed his nomination, which will go into effect on December 10, 2024. With an emphasis on digital transformation and AI-powered customer solutions, Salil will spearhead the organization’s technology strategy.
“Salil’s expertise in AI, enterprise architecture, and digital innovation makes him an invaluable addition to our leadership team. His proven ability to execute large-scale technology transformations will be instrumental in enhancing customer experiences and driving our competitive edge in the NBFC space,” said Arvind Kapil, Managing Director and CEO, Poonawalla Fincorp, on the appointment of the new CTO.
Prior to joining Fiserv, Salil managed transformations, created technology-driven customer experiences, and supported IT strategies for international financial institutions’ loan businesses while holding key positions at Capgemini. His efforts were concentrated on providing financing and payment solutions, enhancing platform capabilities, and upgrading systems.
