Solutions to cybercrime are crucial for India’s future Says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Wednesday that the risks of cybercrime are continuously increasing, pointing out that India is one of the world’s top digital economies and that the country is connecting digitally on many levels.

“The solutions to cybercrime are crucial for India’s future,” the prime minister said while interacting with young innovators at the Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon 2024, via video conferencing.

Recalling his recent Mann Ki Baat speech, Modi stated that a big population is impacted by cyber fraud.

He emphasized the necessity of continuously upgrading with the newest technologies because cyber dangers are rapidly changing.

The Prime Minister used the Namo Drone Didi program as an example to showcase the utilization of drones in different parts of the nation. He added that while terrorists utilize drones to smuggle drugs and weaponry across the border, they are also used to deliver crucial supplies and medications to isolated parts of the nation.

Modi expressed his satisfaction that young inventors are taking these national security challenges very seriously. He claimed that their inventiveness may expand the export of defense technology.

He said that knowledge and innovation would drive the globe of the future, and that India’s youth are its hope and desire in these times of change.

They differed in energy, viewpoint, and thought. The Prime Minister emphasized that everyone had the same goal, which was to make India the most inventive, forward-thinking, and wealthy nation on earth.

According to Modi, the world was realizing that India’s tech might and inventive young were its greatest assets. He went on to say that at the Smart India Hackathon, India’s power was evident in every one of them.

The prime minister was happy to see that the Smart India Hackathon had developed into a great venue for elevating India’s young to the top of the world. About 14 lakh students have taken part in the Smart India Hackathon since its beginning, forming 2 lakh teams and working on roughly 3,000 projects.

He pointed out that hundreds of new start-ups were created as a result of the hackathon, and that over 6,400 institutions were affiliated with it.

According to the prime minister, students submitted over 7,000 ideas in 2017, and this year, that number has risen to over 57,000. He claimed that this demonstrated how India’s youth have stepped forward to address the nation’s problems.

Modi emphasized the government’s recently announced One Nation-One Subscription plan, which has received international acclaim. This program ensures that no young person is denied access to important information by giving Indian academics, innovators, and youth access to international publications. The government is providing broad access to knowledge through this program by subscribing to esteemed periodicals.

PM Modi emphasized the advantages for hackathon participants as well as the overarching objective of enabling Indian youth to compete with the brightest minds in the world. He restated that the goal of the administration is in line with the aspirations of the young people, making sure they have all the resources and infrastructure they need to be successful.
