Google’s inaugural Media Summit in India showcased AI-powered productivity

Google organized its first-ever Media Summit on Google Workspace in India with the subject “Bring AI to Work.” The event focused on the potential of AI in the workplace and demonstrated how its productivity suite uses AI to improve security, productivity, and collaboration.

The use of AI is advancing quickly, according to the conference, with 31% of business executives expecting major changes from AI in the upcoming year. With more than 70% of businesses using AI tools like “Help me write” in Docs and Gmail and more than 75% creating graphics in Slides, Google Workspace is leading the way in this trend.

Google also mentioned that several of its clients are taking advantage of Google Workspace, including Jindal Steel & Power Ltd, Zomato, HCL Software, and JK Cement.

“We are seeing incredible interest in Gemini for Workspace. It’s transforming how people work by boosting the efficiency, creativity, productivity, and security of their organisations,” Sumedha Chakraborty, country head of Google Workspace India & South Asia.

“At Google Workspace, we remain committed to advancing innovation while prioritizing robust security and privacy measures. Our custom LLMs are blocking more spam and responding to threats faster than ever before, reaffirming our commitment to innovation, productivity, and security,” Chakraborty added.

‘AI saves companies 171 hours per user annually’

Google emphasized the substantial advantages of Google Workspace, citing a recent Forrester Total Economic Impact research that found that it saves businesses 171 hours per user year and lowers on-demand tech support expenses by 20%, yielding a 336% return on investment.

Google Workspace’s developments in AI-powered security were also showcased during the event. According to Google, Gmail’s spam prevention has been greatly enhanced by custom-built large language models (LLMs), which filter 20% more spam and analyze 1,000 times more user-reported spam every day. LLMs have sped up reactions to new phishing and spam attempts in Google Drive by 90%.
