Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha spoke at the attestation-cum-passing-out parade of the 16th class of Deputy Superintendents of Police on Tuesday at the Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) in Udhampur during a momentous occasion.
The ceremony signified the successful conclusion of 61 probationary officers’ hard training, according to a statement released. Of these officers, 16 were female and 45 were male, and they swore an oath to serve with honesty and commitment.
In his speech, LG Manoj Sinha underlined how important the Jammu and Kashmir Police are to preserving security and tranquility in the region. He praised the force’s enduring dedication to defending residents and paid respect to the police officers who gave the ultimate sacrifice while doing their duties. The Lieutenant Governor emphasized that the duties of J&K Police go beyond counterterrorism activities and involve coordinating with other security forces to uphold law and order.
Manoj Sinha emphasized in particular the new difficulties facing contemporary law enforcement, notably in the area of cybercrime. Police personnel must keep up to speed on digital investigative techniques because criminals are always changing their tactics, he said.
The LG highlighted how technological tools are being used to address these issues and underlined the necessity of prompt reaction measures to stop the spread of false information on social media platforms and other apps.
The Lieutenant Governor stressed a holistic strategy to security in his response to the militant issue. He emphasized that the police force’s responsibility extends beyond just confronting militants and include destroying their whole support chain and ecology. Another major issue, according to Manoj Sinha, is narco-terrorism, which underscores the need to shield young people from drug misuse.
Addressing the issue of separatism, the lieutenant governor pointed out that accountability included not just dealing with militants but also those who incite and support militancy. In light of the changing security landscape in the area, he asked the recently commissioned officers to bear in mind their training and carry out their responsibilities with the greatest sincerity and commitment.
Following a spectacular march by both men’s and women’s contingents, LG Manoj Sinha took the Rashtriya Salute and inspected the procession as the celebration came to a close. For these young cops, who will now assume their responsibilities in upholding law and order in Jammu and Kashmir, the occasion was a major turning point in their careers.
