Parliamentarians provided the home ministry with a number of recommendations aimed at reducing the nation’s rapidly increasing cybercrime rate. During their meeting with home ministry representatives, members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs received a thorough presentation on the topic of “Cybercrime: Ramifications, Protection, and Prevention.”
Along with other ministry representatives, Home Secretary Govind Mohan was also in attendance.
Due to the nation’s fast digitization, the members proposed a number of steps to curb the surge in cybercrimes.
The frequency of reported cyber incidents has sharply increased as a result of cybersecurity vulnerabilities that have emerged as more people and companies adopt digital technology.
Over 80,000 incidents and hundreds of crores in cyber fraud have been recorded in the past year, according to sources.
