The Apple Store app was released in India on Friday, giving millions of users more ways to buy the iPhone, Mac, iPad, and other Apple devices straight from the firm. Beyond its own physical stores, authorized resellers, and third-party merchants, the move indicates that the most valuable tech firm in the world is on pace to expand its consumer touchpoints in India.
Customized items with laser engraving and configure-to-order options for Macs and Apple Watches are among the personalized shopping experiences that customers may now enjoy thanks to the release of the Apple Store app. Customers in India may use their iPhones and iPads to download and use the Apple Store app.
Multiple tabs on the Apple Store app make it simple to find products and learn about the trade-in program, which enables users to surrender their old gadgets for credit toward a new purchase. The store also provides financing alternatives for items such as the Mac, iPad, and iPhone.
As businesses vie for a piece of the Indian consumer market, the biggest names in the world, like Apple, are increasingly using online platforms to increase consumer interaction. Apple now runs its own stores in major Indian cities like Delhi and Mumbai, and it intends to open more in Bengaluru and Pune, among other places. Apple’s brand is still mostly restricted to wealthy cities in India, though.
For this reason, in September 2020, in the midst of the epidemic, Apple opened an online shop in India. Apple would anticipate additional expansion into smaller cities with the launch of the Apple Store app.
Apple is using the same strategy that made it so successful in China in an attempt to expand into India. This entails increasing iPhone production and sales in India in addition to growing its storefront presence in second and third-tier cities. India’s robust customer base, which mostly consists of the most ambitious consumers, is the key driver of the iPhone’s continued high demand.
