Deepseek’s affordable artificial intelligence (AI) platform has challenged the top IT companies in the globe. The success of the Chinese AI firm has sparked discussion about how Indian AI companies may profit from this trend.
Numerous Indian companies are currently developing AI solutions internally or through partnerships. There are currently no obvious front-runners. However, L-T-I-Mindtree and latent view analytics have been recognized by Anand Rathi analysts as possible beneficiaries.
Deepseek pushes India to look inward
The broker claims that Latent View has a tiny but substantial investment in an AI platform, as well as an advantage in the AI readiness game. Since China’s Deepseek made ripples in the IT industry, Indian investors are also searching for homegrown AI champions.
R1 is an open-source AI model developed by Deepseek that mimics human thought processes. The Chinese AI company has sparked a heated discussion and called into question everyone’s presumptions on the cost of AI.
Since 2017, US megatech companies have made well over 1.2 trillion dollars in investments in AI infrastructure. In addition to the money spent on AI by Nvidia and energy companies, Amazon has invested over 420 billion dollars.
Microsoft, Google, and Meta have each invested more than $220 billion. Oracle has made investments totaling around $60 billion. However, Deepseek asserts that less than $6 million was used to construct its model.
Global IT companies have already partially recovered from Monday’s market collapse of over $1 trillion headed by Deepseek. However, experts caution that the loss of wealth may have a greater effect on larger economies throughout the world.
Separately, a number of market health indicators suggest that Monday’s sudden decline was mostly a blow to the biggest tech firms in the globe as well as shares of businesses linked to artificial intelligence.
However, even excluding IT giants, most S&P 500 companies finished the day higher and have since kept up their gains. However, Deepseek’s success is poised to change how the world views AI and large IT companies.
