Apple CEO Tim Cook confirms, Apple Intelligence is soon coming to India

Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, has stated that the company’s AI-powered suite, Apple Intelligence, will finally arrive in India later this year, beginning in April. Regarding Apple’s AI capabilities on its devices in the nation, which were previously restricted to a few functions like the Clean Up tool, this is a significant step. Cook said that the launch will support numerous languages, including localized English for Indian consumers, during Apple’s most recent earnings call. This implies that AI-powered products like Writing products, Smart Reply, and ChatGPT integration would soon be available to Indian users of iPhones, iPads, and Macs.

Cook also emphasized Apple’s increasing attention to India, which has emerged as a crucial market for the tech behemoth with its headquarters in Cupertino. He said that during the December quarter, the company’s iPhone sales hit a national record, making the iPhone the best-selling model during that time. India is a crucial area for Apple’s expansion since it has the second-largest smartphone market in the world and the third-largest PC and tablet market. Apple has revealed intentions to expand its retail footprint in the nation by opening four additional locations in an effort to bolster its position even further.

A larger worldwide expansion includes the launch of Apple Intelligence in India. The AI suite will also be made accessible in French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese, according to Cook. Alongside India, Singapore will soon see the release of localized English editions.

Kevan Parekh, Apple’s new CFO, also highlighted the company’s impressive results in emerging regions, pointing to India as a shining example. He cited Zomato, one of India’s top food delivery services, which has encouraged creativity by deploying thousands of Macs among its staff.

For those who do not know, only the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 series devices are compatible with Apple Intelligence. As previously stated, Indian consumers are now unable to access the company’s AI services. However, you must switch your default regional setting to one of the languages that support Apple Intelligence if you want to continue using the AI capabilities on your eligible iPhones. Choose English (US) or any other language that supports Apple Intelligence as the primary language on your smartphone by going to Settings > General > Language & Region. This option sets up your device to recognize the language that Apple Intelligence requires.
