Three leadership changes have been announced by Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI), underscoring the business’s emphasis on expansion and operational effectiveness.
These appointments are essential to SPNI’s development since each leader brings fresh insights and pertinent experience to their positions.
As the new business head of Sony Entertainment Television (SET), Nachiket Pantvaidya is a seasoned professional with a broad and varied experience spanning several top media businesses. He has worked for SPNI three times now. He will continue to serve as general manager of Sony Pictures International Productions (SPIP) while he joins SET. Throughout his tenure at SPNI, Nachiket has continuously shown his strategic acumen and leadership by managing SET’s P&L, creating enduring franchises, and increasing distribution and advertising income. With this expanded role, he will be able to use his wealth of experience to provide outstanding entertainment experiences on both platforms.
Having joined SPNI in 2014, Ajay Bhalwankar is presently in charge of its Marathi channel. Prior to this, he was the chief creative officer of Sony Entertainment Television (SET), the main general entertainment channel for SPNI. Sony Marathi has grown significantly under his direction and is now producing interesting, high-caliber programming that appeals to Marathi viewers. Sony Marathi has been able to carve out a position in the congested Marathi GEC market thanks to Ajay’s strategic vision. His focus on approachable and progressive content has contributed to the channel’s 9% market share. In the future, Ajay will lead Sony SAB as its business chief as well. Ajay is in a good position to expand Sony SAB’s reputation for high-caliber entertainment by providing the varied audience with new and interesting content, thanks to his experience and creative flair.
Tushar Shah is Sony Pictures Networks India’s (SPNI) chief marketing officer (CMO) and business head for the company’s entertainment, Bengali, and English channels. He is in charge of well-known networks like Sony BBC Earth, Sony AATH, and Sony PIX.
