AIA New Zealand appoints new Chief Technology Officer

AIA NZ, Auckland, September 10, 2024: AIA NZ is pleased to announce the appointment of Luke Longney as Chief Technology Officer.

Luke holds an MBA from the University of Auckland and brings extensive experience in a wide range of technology, digital, and commercial roles.

Luke first joined the AIA NZ whānau in 2021 as Head of Technology—Digital and progressed to Head of Technology Experience. Under his leadership since he joined AIA, his team has delivered multiple digital experiences and security improvements across internal and external applications.

Prior to joining AIA NZ, Luke spent 20 years at Vodafone in New Zealand and Qatar. In his nine years based in Qatar, he led commercial and marketing teams and helped grow the business from a startup to an NZD$1b revenue operation.

Back in New Zealand, he was a member of Vodafone’s executive team, and in his subsequent digital role, led a digital transformation that delivered uplifts in customer experience, communications, and ways of working, as well as increased digital sales and reduced costs.

AIA NZ CEO Nick Stanhope is delighted to welcome Luke to the AIA NZ executive team, saying, “We’re aiming to deliver the best possible online experience for our customers, advisers, and partners, as well as our employees that support them. With his extensive experience and commercial background, Luke is well placed to lead the teams responsible for enabling and uplifting our digital delivery and capability into the future.”

Luke is aiming to transform and simplify the online experience for our business and customers.
