Amazon Web Services (AWS) declared on Wednesday that it will invest 7.8 billion euros ($8.44 billion) in Germany until 2040 as part of its endeavor to create a cloud computing infrastructure specifically suited for Europe.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced on Wednesday that, as part of its effort to develop a cloud computing infrastructure tailored for Europe, it will invest 7.8 billion euros ($8.44 billion) in Germany through 2040.
In order to preserve the privacy of government data and that of its clients in highly regulated businesses, Amazon last year announced its intentions to store data on servers situated in the European Union.
The corporation stated that by the end of 2025, it will open a number of data centers that will be accessible to all clients in the German state of Brandenburg.
According to a release, the increased investment would annually sustain 2,800 full-time jobs in regional German enterprises.
Additionally, AWS announced last week that it would assist Telefonica Germany (TEF.MC) in migrating one million 5G users to its cloud platform later this month.
