Amitabh Bachchan becomes a campaign spokesperson for the government to fight cybercrime

Renowned actor Amitabh Bachchan has joined the Union Home Ministry’s campaign against online fraud in India, lending his support to the government’s efforts to tackle cybercrime. When Bachchan announced on Wednesday that he will be taking part in the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) initiative, he stressed the significance of citizens being vigilant and knowledgeable in order to protect themselves from cyber dangers.

Through his engagement, Amitabh Bachchan hopes to increase public awareness of the growing problem of cybercrime and inspire caution about risks and online activity.

Amitabh Bachchan revealed that Home Minister Amit Shah asked him to join the anti-cybercrime campaign. In response, Amit Shah thanked the renowned actor for his support of the project and acknowledged the contribution Bachchan’s engagement had made to increasing public awareness of cyber safety.

Home Minister Amit Shah underlined the importance of cybersecurity to national security on Tuesday at the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre’s (I4C) maiden foundation day ceremony.

Expressing his gratitude, Amit Shah said, “Pursuing Modi Ji’s vision, the Ministry of Home Affairs is resolved to creating a safe cyberspace in the nation. The I4C has taken several steps in this direction. I thank Shri @SrBachchan Ji for joining this campaign. Amitabh Bachchan Ji’s active involvement will further accelerate our mission to build a Cyber-Secure Bharat.”

Approved in October 2018, the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) project aims to combat cybercrime in a comprehensive and coordinated manner. The government has taken a number of actions since its founding to support law enforcement, prevention, and public awareness of cybercrime. To increase overall capabilities in addressing and combating cyber threats, these activities include strengthening cyber forensic facilities, training officials, and issuing cyber alerts.
