“Eureka Labs is the culmination of my passion in both AI and education over about 2 decades,” Karpathy said in the post.

On Tuesday, computer scientist Andrej Karpathy revealed that he was launching Eureka Labs, an AI-integrated educational platform, drawing on his years of experience at Tesla and ChatGPT creator OpenAI.

Since ChatGPT launched in November 2022, educational platforms have benefited from the explosion of generative artificial intelligence to enhance and produce digital learning materials.

According to Karpathy’s article on X, teachers would create courses on the Eureka Labs platform with the assistance of an AI teaching assistant, which would lead students through the course material.

LLM101n, an undergraduate course that assists students in training their own AI models, akin to a condensed version of the teaching assistant, is the company’s initial offering.

Karpathy was one of the original members of OpenAI in 2015, and the business hired him two years later to head its autopilot section, which developed cutting-edge driving assistance software, at Tesla.

“Eureka Labs is the culmination of my passion in both AI and education over about 2 decades,” Karpathy said in the post.

After earning a PhD from Stanford University, Karpathy began sharing videos online that demonstrated how to solve Rubik’s cubes. Over time, he uploaded more content online that explored other AI-related topics.
