According to a source, Apple launched a new page and is getting ready to offer its Vision Pro mixed-reality headset outside of the United States in an attempt to increase demand for its most expensive investment in years.
In an effort to boost demand for its most costly wager in years, Apple (AAPL.O) is preparing to sell its Vision Pro mixed-reality headset outside of the United States, according to a report.
According to a story that cited sources with knowledge of the situation, the iPhone maker has flown hundreds of staff members from its overseas stores to Cupertino, California, where they have begun receiving training on how to show customers around the $3,499 headgear.
As per the source, Apple intends to launch its Vision Pro in foreign regions following the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which is slated to take place from June 10 to June 14.
Workers from Germany, France, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and China are undergoing up to four days of training, which indicates that these countries may be among the device’s initial worldwide customers.
The Vision Pro headset debuted in June of last year and went on sale in the United States on February 2. The international release of the headset may aid Apple in attracting customers during a period in which sales of its best-selling product, the iPhone, are declining.
Analysts report that demand for the expensive Vision Pro has been decreasing since the device’s release.
Apple CEO Tim Cook was cited in March by China’s state-run CCTV Finance as stating that the company will keep increasing its R&D spending in China and that Apple’s Vision Pro will launch on the Chinese mainland this year.
