Apple will hold its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) from June 10 to June 14, amid rumours that the iPhone manufacturer was in talks with AI partners and could introduce substantial changes to iOS
Apple (AAPL.O), which opens a new tab, will convene its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) from June 10 to June 14, the company announced on Tuesday, amid allegations that the iPhone manufacturer was in talks with AI partners and could introduce big changes to iOS.
The event, which will take place online, will feature software updates for iPhones, iPads, and other Apple products, according to the firm. Some developers and students will be welcomed in person to Apple Park on the first day, according to the announcement.
Investors are keeping an eye out for developments in Apple’s artificial intelligence development, as the company has so far said little about putting the technology into its gadgets. Earlier this year, Microsoft took over as the world’s most valuable firm.
Apple intends to leverage AI technology such as Google’s Gemini to power a chatbot within Apple’s operating systems, while the iPhone maker’s own AI engine would perform more behind-the-scenes chores across the new software, it was reported earlier this month.
The business also intends to make the iPhone home screen more configurable in iOS 18, which some rumors suggest could be the most significant change to the iPhone operating system in years.
The developers conference comes at a time when Apple’s iPhone sales remain low, while Mac and iPad sales have decreased amid a global drop in device purchases.
Last year’s conference saw Apple introduce the Vision Pro mixed reality headset, a new core CPU, and new PCs.
