When asked how he planned his career path to be a successful Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Mazda Irani, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at E2E Energy Solutions Inc., in an exclusive interview with CIO News said, as a Chief Technology Officer I have to be updated on new technologies and changes in energy transition and to increase my capabilities in both artificial intelligence (AI) and coding, I have to consistently take new courses and read new articles.

When asked about challenges he faced in his career path and how he overcame them, he said, to keep myself updated in coding and science of our technology; which is a development of the simulation software, is quite hard and needs full dedication. For every CTO, there should be two experts: one on software architecture and one on the science that the CTO can rely on.

When asked how his organisation geared up in terms of technology in the COVID times, he said, COVID did not affect us that much, since Zoom and teams helped us with checking codes and planning new modules.

Speaking about technology solutions and innovations, he said, he plans to implement better 3D visualization in the post-COVID era.

Talking about challenges, he said, turnover of software developers is the challenge faced by CTOs today in a similar industry while implementing digital technologies, and it is not possible in the current market to overcome this challenge. Companies should invest in universities that can provide better software developers.

When asked about best practices/industry trends/advice he would like to suggest to fellow CTOs for their successful professional journeys, he said to increase their knowledge of coding and new AI techniques. Especially in new ML techniques that help accelerate the run-time in numerical simulations such as CFD.
