Prior to joining Asymchem, Dr. Chen worked at Merck Research Laboratories, Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Mirati Therapeutics, and Bristol Myers Squibb.

TEDA TIANJIN, China (BUSINESS WIRE), June 26, 2024: As part of Asymchem’s continued strategic development, the organization welcomed Dr. Cheng Yi Chen as a senior executive.

Dr. Cheng Yi Chen officially joined Asymchem as Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of the Small Molecule Market on June 18, 2024. He will report directly to Asymchem CEO, Dr. Hao Hong. In his new role, Dr. Cheng Yi Chen will provide technical support to the group’s small-molecule chemical sales in the European and American markets. His main functions include actively participating in technical communications for key mid-to-late-phase clinical projects in Europe and the United States and facilitating collaborations with major new customers, leveraging the global technical capabilities of the small-molecule chemical market of the band. He will also offer advice to the core team in China on technical issues related to projects with European and American clients and provide advisory opinions related to communication. Additionally, he will bring technical expertise to the Boston, USA, site and oversee technical operations in the small-molecule laboratories and pilot production sites in Europe.

Prior to joining Asymchem, Dr. Chen worked at Merck Research Laboratories, Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Mirati Therapeutics, and Bristol Myers Squibb. He has enormous experience in designing, developing, and implementing robust, cost-effective, and eco-friendly manufacturing pathways for small molecule APIs, ensuring CMC compliance and quality, collaborating with multifunctional drug production teams and external partners, and supporting regulatory files. Dr. Chen received his doctorate in organic chemistry from Ohio State University.
