Next month, Steven Rebello, who has served as Macquarie’s chief information security officer (CISO) for the past two years, will take over as Endeavour Group’s CISO. Rebello has worked with Macquarie Group for almost eight years in a variety of security capacities until being named BFS CISO in April 2022.

The Endeavour Group, which operates stores like BWS and Dan Murphy’s, announced that Rebello has joined the team and will be reporting to Claire Smith, the group CIO.

“The company’s commitment to cyber security and innovation is reinforced by Steven’s addition to the technology leadership team, which comes at a significant time as we move through the multi-year One Endeavour Transformation program,” Smith said in a statement.

Rebello was chosen “after an extensive market search,” with the selection process favorably considering his “over 20 years of experience in cyber security in banking and insurance.”

Additionally, he “led the security stream on the multi-year digital transformation program at Macquarie Bank.”

“Ensuring that the organization’s security posture remains robust through the [One Endeavour Transformation] program and beyond,” stated Rebello in a statement. Friday, May 24, is Rebello’s last day at Macquarie Group.

It was unclear if a permanent replacement had been sought or if an acting appointment had been made.
