The well-known Indian defense electronics manufacturer Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has named Manoj Jain as its new managing director and chairman.
Manoj Jain has worked at BEL for more than thirty years, which speaks to his dedication to and proficiency in research and development (R&D). August 1991 was the start of his career as a probationary engineer. Since September 26, 2022, he has held a number of important roles, including director (R&D). In addition, he served in the capacities of Director (HR) from November 1, 2022, to May 31, 2023, and Director (Bangalore Complex) from August 1, 2023. He was the General Manager of the Electronic Warfare and Avionics SBU at the Bangalore Complex of BEL before taking up these positions.

In 1999, Jain relocated to BEL’s Central Research Laboratory in Bangalore, where he worked on projects like VeXT, Scan Converter, and Display using FPGA in addition to designing defense networks and network and bulk security solutions.
Over time, Jain’s leadership responsibilities grew. From December 2017 until May 2019, he was CRL-Bangalore’s Chief Scientist. In June 2019, he was appointed General Manager of BEL’s Product Development and Innovation Centre (PD&IC).
BEL hopes to maintain its proficiency and innovation in defense electronics under Manoj Jain’s direction. With his wealth of R&D experience, he is well-positioned to lead the organization through the rapidly changing defense industry technology landscape. This new leadership represents a turning point for BEL, offering new insights to manage opportunities and challenges in the future.
