CrowdStrike Falcon Sensor: Culprit of Blue Screen of Death error, World's Biggest IT Outage

Blue Screen errors, sometimes referred to as black screen faults or STOP code issues, can happen when Windows abruptly shuts down or restarts due to a serious problem.

The Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) error is causing the system to abruptly shut down or restart for millions of Windows users worldwide. Microsoft stated in a statement that a recent CrowdStrike “Falcon Sensor” update is the cause of the issue.

Several businesses, banks, and government agencies worldwide have been impacted by the bug. The majority of Indian airlines have informed travelers about the upgrade using X, formerly known as Twitter.

Social media users posted pictures showing their screens stuck on the recovery page, displaying the message: “It looks like Windows didn’t load correctly. If you’d like to restart and try again, choose Restart my PC below.”

Due to communication problems, several US airlines, including American Airlines, Delta Airlines, and United Airlines, announced a ground halt on Friday morning. US Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg said the department was monitoring the flight cancellation and delay issues at Frontier, adding that the agency will hold the company and all other airlines “to their responsibilities to meet the needs of passengers.”.

Microsoft, in a statement, said it was taking “mitigation actions” after service issues. “Our services are still seeing continuous improvements while we continue to take mitigation actions,” the company said in a post on X.

“We remain committed to treating this event with the highest priority and urgency while we continue to address the lingering impact on the Microsoft 365 apps that are in a degraded state,” the company added.

What is the Blue Screen of Death?

Blue Screen errors, sometimes referred to as black screen faults or STOP code issues, can happen when Windows abruptly shuts down or restarts due to a serious problem. You may encounter a message stating, “Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer” or a similar notification.

Software or hardware issues may be the cause of these errors. Try turning off your computer, taking out the new hardware, and trying to restart if you recently installed new hardware and got a Blue Screen problem. If it is impossible for you to restart, you can start your computer in safe mode. See the instructions on how to start your computer in safe mode in Windows for more specific details.

You should also think about using Windows Update to update Windows with the most recent fixes, getting help from other sources, or backing up Windows to a previous restore point.

How to Fix a Windows Blue Screen Error
