Bosch, an automotive supplier, intends to lay off 1,200 employees in its software development sector by the end of 2026.
Bosch, an automotive supplier, plans to lose 1,200 jobs in its software development sector by the end of 2026, according to a company representative.
The source stated that discussions with employee representatives had yet to begin, referring to the anticipated job cuts as planned but not yet finalized.
The main reason for the move, which includes 950 job layoffs in Germany alone, is the substantially slower-than-expected development of fully autonomous driving.
“A weak economy and high inflation, caused, among other things, by increased energy and commodity costs, are currently slowing down the transition,” Bosch stated.
Employees in the impacted division were notified of the plans yesterday afternoon, according to the source.
