Bosch's Tech Compass survey shows that India is ready for AI transformation in work

India leads the world in AI education and readiness, according to the Bosch Tech Compass Survey 2025, thanks to a high percentage of self-learning and employer-sponsored training. The poll, which was carried out in seven different nations, looks at how people around the world see developing technology like artificial intelligence. While admitting worries about job displacement and ethical ramifications, Indians exhibit optimism over AI’s potential advantages.

Compared to other studied countries, more than half of Indians are actively seeking self-education in AI-related skills. As the need for AI knowledge increases internationally, this proactive strategy places India at the forefront of AI readiness. The fact that four out of five respondents worldwide intend to learn AI capabilities shows how widely AI’s significance is acknowledged.

59% of respondents in India are now enrolled in basic AI courses or self-studying AI skills. The nation’s AI skills are further strengthened by the AI training programs provided by Indian enterprises, which supplement this individual endeavor. With this combined strategy, India is now developing its AI workforce at a faster rate than both the US and Europe.

“Artificial intelligence is transforming the way we work. This year’s report emphasizes on the accelerating need for AI skills at workplace and how we can harness it for greater productivity and success. At Bosch, we recognize the opportunities AI offers and are integrating it responsibly, thereby staying committed to fostering AI literacy and deployment.” said Guruprasad Mudlapur, President of the Bosch Group in India and Managing Director, Bosch Limited.

Nearly two-thirds of respondents worldwide (63%) strongly agreed that AI should be taught as a stand-alone subject in schools. This is especially relevant in India, where it is already thought that schools and colleges are giving students the necessary AI capabilities. The research highlights our larger goal to develop a tech-savvy youth ready for an AI-shaped future, since 60% of Indians expect the government to support and lead such education.

For the greater good

84% of Indians believe that advancements in technology would improve the world, and 63% think artificial intelligence (AI) will have the most impact in the upcoming ten years. The nation’s dedication to sustainable development is demonstrated by the fact that, like in the previous edition, Indian respondents still have trust in the revolutionary potential of technology to directly solve environmental concerns.

Concerns and challenges

Even while India is still quite optimistic about the adoption of AI, the study also identifies several serious issues, such as the possibility of more social inequality and job displacement, particularly in physical and cognitive positions, along with plagiarism hazards. Additionally, 86% of respondents underlined the necessity of legally mandated norms of behavior to direct businesses’ ethical use of AI.

The report also reflects India’s unique responses to integrating AI in the most bizarre and unexpected ways, with 68% of Indians believing that AI can win a Nobel Prize, 76% believing that AI-controlled humanoid robots can break world records in the Olympics, and 72% believing that AI can resolve political conflicts in the future.

The Bosch Tech Compass study, which is being conducted in Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, the United Kingdom, and the United States, attempts to investigate how people throughout the world see developing technology, including their attitudes, beliefs, expectations, worries, and more.
