Carl Lucas appointed as Chief Information Officer at Woolpert

Carl Lucas has been appointed Chief Information Officer by Woolpert to manage the development, integration, and security of IT for the company’s growing artificial intelligence and worldwide architecture, engineering, and geospatial (AEG) activities. Lucas will collaborate with Woolpert’s leadership team to strengthen the company’s IT and cybersecurity capabilities, enhance the IT integration procedures for acquired companies, and lead a comprehensive AI program intended to support the company’s internal IT, generative AI, corporate services, and operational requirements.

Lucas has led and developed IT strategies for Fortune 500 corporations, private equity-backed businesses, and a range of IT startups. He has over 30 years of international IT experience, including 10 years in the geospatial sector, when he joins Woolpert.

Lucas was NV5’s vice president of information technology prior to joining Woolpert. He oversaw the company’s worldwide technology systems, operations, cloud services, and IT security, with a particular focus on technological progress and scalability for the geospatial solutions business.

Lucas graduated from the University of Rochester with a bachelor’s degree in astrophysics. He graduated from Stanford University with a professional certificate in innovation and entrepreneurship and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a professional certificate in management and leadership. He will work from Woolpert’s office in St. Petersburg, Florida’s St. Pete Innovation District.
