Global Startup Summit | 9th Edition December, 2024 in Chennai
Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], December ‘24 : The 9th edition of the Global Startup Summit 2024 was held in December at the Holiday Inn, OMR, Chennai, and brought together entrepreneurs, startup industry leaders, venture capitalists, and investors.
Spanning over nine hours, the summit featured engaging panel discussions on a variety of topics, including the latest technological advancements, boosting profitability and productivity, the startup funding landscape, and global business trends.
Chandu Sekhar Bommithi (Enterprise Architect) took the stage to deliver the keynote address focusing on the transformative potential of technology as both a problem-solver and an equalizer. He emphasized how startups are leveraging data, AI, and sustainable innovation to drive industry-wide change and reshape business landscapes.
Drawing inspiration from successful local examples such as Freshworks and BankBazaar, Chandu demonstrated how entrepreneurs can create a global impact. In his conclusion, Bommithi urged founders to embrace continuous learning, foster collaboration, and prioritize customer-centric innovation as key drivers for leading the future of business.
Sourabh Jain (Founder & CEO of The EleFant) participated in dynamic panel discussions on “The Art of Founder-CEO Transition: Sustaining Momentum in Leadership Changes”. He discussed the challenges and strategies for founders transitioning to a CEO role or bringing in external leadership during company growth. Key points included recognizing when it’s time for a leadership shift, ensuring a smooth transition without disrupting momentum, and overcoming the challenges of moving from a visionary to an operational role. The panel also included Srinivasan Yagnanarayanan (Founder & CEO, GRAHAS VR) and, Dr. Sadiq Sait M.S (Founder & CEO, uLektz.com).
Mohit Sureka (Founder & CEO of Global Startups Club) delivered the keynote address offering valuable insights.The event then transitioned into dynamic panel discussions on Balancing Innovation with Profitability Strategies. Speakers such as Shyam Sekar S – Business Growth Advisor, Startup Mentor, Board Advisor, Ajay Shetty (Founder and CEO of Salud Beverages), Moinak Banerjee – (Co-Founder at Solinas Integrity) moderated by Divya Chandrasekaran (Founder & Managing Partner, iPact Legal), shared their expertise.
Meanwhile, Room no.2 buzzed with some excitement . The Global Startup Battles was won by Suit Lounge after several rounds. Founders of Suit Lounge Sanjivii T Raman and Anupriya Jayaprakash delivered an outstanding presentation and confidently addressed every question, leaving a lasting impression on the judges. Sabah Iqbal hosted a knowledge-packed session on startups.
The event had participants and founders from 20+ cities. Investors came down from different cities like Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore. Post-event, testimonials were gathered from investors and speakers to foster communication and capture popular opinions from renowned individuals who attended the event.
One of the highlight panels included “Equity and Ownership: Striking a Fair Balance Between Investors and Founders”. Investors such as Dr Periasamy Pradeep (Chief Investor, BiggDa Venture Investment ), Nithish Kumar ( Vice President – Investments, BEEJ Network), Arvind Subramaniam (General Partner, Enlighten Capital), Amit Jain (LCo-Founder, Ashika Global Family Office Services), Jeyavarthanaraj Balakrishnan (AVP – Sales, HDFC Mutual Fund) shared their valuable insights.
Content creator & Podcaster Tarun Sharma (178k subscribers on Youtube) & discussed how startups can strategically use social media platforms like Instagram and YouTube to build a strong brand identity and foster engagement.
