Chetan Bhat is the new Global Chief Information Officer (CIO) of EnerMech, and he will lead the company’s business systems and digital strategy.
Bhat has over 20 years of IT leadership experience and has held positions in the manufacturing, technology, and energy industries. In his most recent role, he enhanced technology investment governance procedures while developing a multi-year IT plan for Maverick Natural Resources. He provided top leadership at Maverick with advice on all aspects of IT requirements, risks, and expenses.
Bhat has previously held top IT leadership positions at Roper Technologies and a number of GE enterprises, including its Oil & Gas, Security, Commercial Finance, and Aero Energy divisions, in addition to his position at Maverick Natural Resources.
Bhat graduated from Bombay University with a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering. He presently serves on the board of the Houston-based Society of Information Management and is an active member of the Project Management Institute and CIO Leadership Network.
Bhat will be in charge of IT governance, security, and risk management at EnerMech and will answer to Chief Transformation Officer Jose Xavier. Among his duties will be putting IT best practices into action and making sure regulations are followed. In order to support EnerMech’s long-term plans, Bhat will also oversee connections with IT providers, manage the IT budget, and lead digital transformation activities.
After 13 years with EnerMech, John Clark, who was temporary IT director, will move into a new position as Transformation Director and continue to support the company’s strategic goals.
