As per Commvault’s announcement, Amazon Web Services (AWS) will host the Commvault Cloud cyber resilience platform.

AWS clients will get access to state-of-the-art solutions for automating data protection, accelerating cyber recovery, and streamlining the process of rebuilding cloud applications after a cyberattack thanks to the Commvault Cloud platform, which includes its widely used SaaS services (previously known as Metallic).

More businesses are adopting a cloud-first strategy these days, emphasising the importance of cyber resilience. As a matter of fact, the cloud will house 73% of all new data. With Commvault’s announcement, businesses now have even more choices for enhancing resilience on the safe AWS Cloud. Customers of AWS will be able to purchase the following offerings:

Cloud Rewind: Cloud Rewind functions as an AWS time machine and is based on Appranix technology. With this cloud-native solution, businesses can automate the rebuilding of cloud applications and “rewind” to the last clean copy of their data, allowing them to resume operations in minutes as opposed to hours, days, weeks, or months.

Cyber resilience for Amazon S3: In the upcoming months, Commvault—which just acquired Clumio—will unveil new technologies that will enable Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) users to have time machine capabilities. This technique will enable Amazon S3 customers to quickly restore to a clean copy of their data that hasn’t been contaminated by malware in the case of an attack. This development will present a significant chance to increase cyber resilience in the AI era at a time when many businesses are storing extremely huge datasets in Amazon S3, particularly datasets related to AI and machine learning.

Air Gap Protect: Immutable, isolated copies of data in a Commvault tenancy will be made available as a service to AWS clients through this crucial last line of defence solution. This service complements Commvault’s existing backup and tenant protection offerings for customers owned buildings. Customers of AWS now have an additional option to safeguard and protect their data.

Cleanroom recovery: Commvault is expanding Cleanroom Recovery’s capabilities to AWS. This solution will enable businesses to swiftly restore production workloads and automatically provision recovery infrastructure in the event of an attack. Recovery can then occur to a remote location within AWS. In this hygienic and secure setting, customers can also perform forensics. The great thing about Cleanroom Recovery is that it makes it possible for IT and security teams to thoroughly test their cyber recovery plans on a regular basis before they are compromised, ensuring that they can quickly recover.
