This is an exclusive interview conducted by Santosh Vaswani, Journalist & Editor at CIO News with Mr. Sameer Kulkarni, CIO, Core Integra.

Can you provide a brief overview of Core Integra and what challenges did the team face in establishing the platform?

Core Integra is among the top national-level players in the area of regulatory compliance, and Reg Tech specialises in the space of labour law compliances, which include factory, establishment, EHS, mining, and social compliances. Today, Core Integra enjoys a unique market positioning offering HR Operations, HR Tech, Payroll Outsourcing, Labour Law Compliances, Reg Tech, Managed Services, and Talent Acquisition with proprietary software products where this entire value chain is not offered by any single service provider in India.

When someone mentions Labour law compliance, the immediate visualization that comes to mind is volumes of paper, box files, bound book registers, and different coloured forms in English and regional languages. This was a reality a decade ago when we initiated Ctrl-F software, which is also the first SaaS-based full-scale labour law compliance platform in India. In those times, compliance, especially in the labour law domain, was largely supported by regional or local players, whereas Core Integra had the aspiration to be a national-level player catering to all states in the country. Manual and paper-based processing would be a significant challenge to our growth aspirations; hence, we ventured into developing technology in this domain, which was non-existent when we initiated the build and was also advised as a non-starter by many practitioners in this space. Today, the platform is offered under the services and SaaS models, with over 10,000 enterprise users across 30 industries using it for their regular compliance tasks.

Are there training resources available to help clients understand and leverage the technical features of the platform effectively?

Pieces of training at the beginning of the relationship and continual training models are part of our standard service offerings to all our clients. Notifications are automatically sent from Ctrl-F for all changes and updates regularly. Product enhancements and new modules are offered to all clients, along with training sessions on the new introductions. We also run many customer knowledge sessions, not restricted to software usage but extended to the compliance domain, to ensure that our clients and users have in-depth knowledge of compliance rather than restricting their knowledge to the technology solution alone.

What factors are taken into account in designing the user interface of Core Integra to ensure a positive user experience?

Simplicity and visual appeal are the basic criteria for designing any product at Core Integra, including Ctrl-F. Any person, irrespective of the level or hierarchy, whether from the compliance domain or otherwise, must be comfortable with the platform. Self-help is key to the success of any product in the SaaS model, which has been taken care of in each module and submodule of Ctrl-F. The dashboards use graphics to represent data, communicate information through immediate visualization, and drill down to details available on screen as well as downloadable formats. Transaction processing screens are similar across compliance modules for ease of understanding the steps of the processes across various compliances.

Are there analytics or reporting features that clients can leverage for better insights into their compliance status?

Ctrl-F enables information at the fingertips, which means real-time status of compliance health is available on mobile and the web in the form of dashboards with drill-downs to the granular level. RPA is effectively used to reconcile data from multiple source systems, structure it for processing on the platform, and generate multi-dimensional output in the form of statutory formats, custom reports, dashboards, and analytics to enable quick decision-making. The system allows users to drill down into specific compliance categories, providing a granular understanding of their adherence to regulatory standards. Real-time updates ensure that clients have access to the latest information, facilitating proactive decision-making.

The Ctrl-F product offers robust analytics and reporting features that empower clients to gain valuable insights into their compliance status. With a user-friendly interface and customizable reporting options, clients can efficiently track and monitor their compliance metrics. The analytics tools provide a comprehensive overview of key compliance indicators, enabling clients to identify trends, patterns, and potential areas for improvement.

How easily can Core Integra integrate with existing systems and technologies used by its clients?

For processing and reporting compliances under various Acts and Laws, and in order to ensure hassle-free end-to-end workflow, it is imperative to integrate Ctrl-F with various source systems. Ctrl-F is a flexible platform that can seamlessly integrate with any source system in short timelines, either through an API or using RPA. At Core Integra, we believe that to be a pure SaaS product, Ctrl-F must be simple, flexible, and user-friendly, and the entire workflow must be completed at the click of a button through integrations across systems. We have integrated Ctrl-F across multiple ERP systems, software, and tools, including custom-built and homegrown software for clients.
