Cybercop Triveni Singh gets VRS approval from UP Government

IPS officer Triveni Singh, popularly known as ‘cybercop’, got approval from the Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday for his voluntary retirement system (VRS), senior home department officials confirmed.

Singh, a Provincial Police Service (PPS) officer from the 1994 batch, was promoted to the IPS cadre in 2011. He was currently posted as SP in the cybercrime cell of the UP Police, and his retirement was due in November 2025.

The cybercop served as SP in Auraiya, Azamgarh, and STF, along with other state police wings, including vigilance. Sources in the police department said that the officer had applied for VRS in January 2023 because of health reasons. Singh is known for his expertise in handling financial and banking cyber frauds.
