Debashish Roy has been named the new Chief Digital Transformation Officer (CDTO) by CEAT, with effect from December 2, 2024. A significant step in CEAT’s continuous commitment to stepping up its innovation and digital transformation initiatives is this strategic leadership appointment.
Debashish Roy will lead the company’s digital transformation initiatives in his new position, reporting directly to Amit Tolani, Chief Executive of CEAT Specialty. He will concentrate on fostering innovation, improving customer-centric strategies, and expanding technological capabilities throughout the company’s operations.
Debashish brings a breadth of experience in leading innovation, digital disruption, and customer-centric initiatives, having worked in the field of digital transformation for more than 15 years. Product development, platforms, channels, analytics, and innovative business models are just a few of the business operations he has vast experience managing. Debashish, a chemical engineering graduate with a management degree from IIM Mumbai with a focus on IT & Operations, has managed extensive transformation projects for Fortune 500 companies while working for prestigious international companies.
As Director of Digital Transformation & Customer Experience at Pfizer Ltd. before joining CEAT, Debashish was instrumental in combining digital and IT capabilities and building a strong digital ecosystem within the business. Additionally, he has held prominent roles at Abbott India Ltd., PwC US Advisory, and Cognizant Business Consulting, where he has promoted digital innovation and sustainable growth across a range of industries, including technology and healthcare.
Digital and IT strategy, data analytics, change management, omnichannel customer experience, and ecosystem alliances are among the areas in which Debashish specializes. The CX Leader Award at the 11th Global Edition of the World CX Summit & Awards in 2024, the Leading CIO of the Year Award at the CII CIO Excellence Awards in 2023, the Economic Times CX Inspiring Leaders Award in 2023, and the Innovator’s Award at the BIG CIO Show and Awards in 2022, sponsored by NITI Aayog, are just a few of the many honors he has received for his leadership in fostering cross-functional teams and innovation.
