Dr. Madhu Sasidhar has been appointed President and CEO of Apollo’s hospital division, a strategic move intended to further improve clinical outcomes and patient care. Apollo is a leading global healthcare organization.
Leading Apollo’s hospital division in his new capacity, Dr. Madhu will be responsible for upholding the company’s stellar record of providing top-notch clinical results while improving patient care and satisfaction.
With board credentials in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and critical care medicine, Dr. Madhu is a highly experienced physician who brings a wealth of knowledge from his stint at Cleveland Clinic, where he served as the President of Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital. In addition to his work in clinical practice, he has written books, trained himself to program, and is a patent holder for a device he created with Cleveland Clinic Innovations.
Following his medical study at JIPMER, Pondicherry, Dr. Madhu completed fellowships and residencies at esteemed establishments such as Yale University and St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. With a Global Executive Master in Business Administration from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France, he expanded his skill set even more.
Dr. Prathap Chandra Reddy, the founder and chairman of Apollo Hospitals Group, commented on Dr. Madhu’s appointment and expressed confidence in her capacity to take Apollo’s hospital division to new heights. He emphasized how important Dr. Madhu’s clinical acumen, global experience, and technological know-how are to Apollo’s expansion plan.
The recently appointed President and CEO, Dr. Madhu Sasidhar, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to join Apollo and pledged to continue the institution’s outstanding tradition. As part of a prearranged changeover, Dr. Madhu was appointed after serving as Apollo’s Chief Strategy Officer since October 2023. The departing President of Apollo Hospitals, Dr. K Hari Prasad, will retire as part of this change as he has had a remarkable 27-year career with the company.
The board recognized Dr. Hari Prasad’s outstanding contributions to Apollo over the years and his crucial role in influencing the expansion and prosperity of the organization.
