DSCI and InMobi collaborate to improve cybersecurity education and enhance digital resilience in India

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed on Monday by InMobi, a leader in mobile technology and digital innovation globally, and the Data Security Council of India (DSCI), an independent non-profit organization founded by NASSCOM, to improve cybersecurity awareness, capacity building, skilling, and upskilling initiatives across India.

The partnership, according to a press statement from the firm, reflects the shared vision of InMobi and DSCI to create a secure and resilient digital ecosystem in India.

Naveen Tewari, Founder and CEO, InMobi Group, said, “InMobi is deeply committed to fostering a safe and secure digital environment for all. As a leading consumer tech brand, we carry a profound responsibility to not just innovate but to create meaningful impact. It’s about building trust, protecting consumer interests, and fostering a sustainable ecosystem where technology serves humanity for good. Our commitment must be towards shaping a future where brands are a force for positive change as we build from India for the world.”.

Both organizations are dedicated to providing individuals, businesses, and institutions with the information and skills required to protect against cybersecurity threats as the adoption of digital technology continues to pick up speed. Cyber awareness initiatives, capacity-building workshops, training, skill-upskilling, and nationwide quizzes are among the collaboration’s main goals.

Speaking on the collaboration, Dr. Subi Chaturvedi, Global SVP and Chief Corporate Affairs & Public Policy Officer, InMobi Group, stated, “InMobi and DSCI share a common interest in fostering a safer and more resilient digital ecosystem. Together, we are committed to empowering individuals and organizations with the knowledge and tools to navigate the digital landscape securely. Our partnership is built on the belief that cybersecurity is a shared responsibility, and through collaborative efforts, we can drive lasting change for a secure digital future.”

Vinayak Godse, CEO of DSCI, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership: “Cybersecurity is no longer just a concern for large enterprises; it is now critical for everyone in the digital ecosystem. Through our collaboration with InMobi, we will be able to amplify our efforts to promote cybersecurity awareness and build a more secure and resilient digital India.”

‘InMobi For Good’ and ‘Glance For Good’ will benefit greatly from this partnership, which will use Glance’s lock screen technology and the InMobi ecosystem to promote good social effects.

Through bite-sized material that promotes cybersecurity, online safety, and digital literacy, the campaign will reach millions of smartphone users. According to the firm, it seeks to engage marginalized people, promote responsible digital practices, and create a safer, better-informed digital society by utilizing Glance’s immersive user experience.

Nowadays, cybersecurity is a major worldwide problem. Recent statistics indicate that over 60% more cyberattacks have occurred in the last two years, with ransomware, phishing, and data breaches being the most common threats. The 2023 study on the cost of a data breach by IBM and the Ponemon Institute highlights the increasing financial and operational hazards associated with data breaches, with an average cost of $4.45 million worldwide. With 68% of firms in India reporting at least one cyber incident in the previous year, it is clear that comprehensive cybersecurity measures are urgently needed in a country where digital use is growing.

In order to stay ahead of the curve, businesses are now prioritizing investments in proactive security solutions, capacity building, and ongoing training. Current trends point to a shift towards more sophisticated threats, such as AI-driven attacks and deep fakes. Thus, the partnership between DSCI and In Mobi is a big step in the right direction for improving India’s cybersecurity resilience. Together, InMobi and DSCI hope to create a safe and prosperous digital future where cutting-edge technology is paired with the highest levels of trust and security.
