DSCI and British High Commission Launch Cyber Awareness Campaign in 15 Madhya Pradesh Schools

A four-month cyber awareness campaign in 15 Madhya Pradesh schools was launched on Tuesday by DSCI with assistance from the British High Commission.

With the help of the British High Commission, the Data Security Council of India (DSCI) launched a four-month cyber awareness campaign in 15 Madhya Pradesh schools on Tuesday. 5,000 participants in the ‘Cyber for YOUth’ program, comprising educators, students, and school administrators from 15 schools in Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, and Chattarpur, will receive basic instruction in digital hygiene and cyber safety. Vinayak Godse, CEO of DSCI, stated that the initiative will help pupils see cyberspace as a good source for information, inquiry, and progress rather than a threat because it will introduce them to it at a young age.

As part of the India-UK Cyber Programme, which aims to strengthen cyber security cooperation, the British High Commission is supporting the effort. Madhya Pradesh is among the many Indian communities and locations where we have witnessed a rapid adoption of digital technology. Simultaneously, there has been a consistent global increase in cybercrime, making cyberspace challenging to traverse, particularly for vulnerable populations like children. This program emphasizes how important it is to work together to address global concerns like cyber security, according to Anand Krishnan, advisor for the ISF India Cyber Program at the British High Commission in India.

Founded by the Indian IT industry association Nasscom, DSCI is a non-profit trade organization focused on data protection. For public advocacy, thought leadership, capacity building, and outreach activities, it collaborates with the government, law enforcement agencies, industry sectors (such as IT-BPM, BFSI, CII, and telecom), industry associations, embassies, data protection authorities, and think tanks.
