“Through its ambitious hydrogen and industrial carbon capture projects, EET has made tremendous steps in recent years to become a leading example of innovation and decarbonisation in the UK. I’m looking forward to working with the wider team to achieve these plans and support the region’s decarbonization plans,” said Wallace.
Rob Wallace has been appointed by EET, the developer of a massive green power plant, as the CEO at the Stanlow refinery.
At EET Hydrogen Power, the business driving the EET group’s proposed hydrogen-ready combined heat and power plant, Rob Wallace will take over as CEO.
EET, the company that was formerly known as Essar Oil UK, has plans to reduce emissions at Stanlow and transform the oil site into a “leading energy transition hub” that includes the plant.
Working with organizations like Shell and Centrica, Mr. Wallace has twenty-five years of experience in the energy industry. The last position he held was as hydrogen manager for the Irish energy firm ESB, when he joined the Asset Development Team to support the company’s Net Zero 2040 objective and oversaw the plant commissioning and commercialization at Carrington Power Station.
EET says its planned hydrogen power plant “will play a significant role in reducing emissions at Stanlow,” initially delivering a 13% carbon dioxide emissions reduction.
At Stanlow, EET is now constructing the first hydrogen-ready furnace in the United Kingdom, costing £45 million.
Rob Wallace, CEO of EET Hydrogen Power, said: “Through its ambitious hydrogen and industrial carbon capture projects, EET has made tremendous steps in recent years to become a leading example of innovation and decarbonisation in the UK. I’m looking forward to working with the wider team to achieve these plans and support the region’s decarbonization plans.”
Tony Fountain, CEO of EET, said, “We wish Rob a warm welcome to EET. He brings extensive knowledge on hydrogen and power development and will make a valuable contribution to successfully implementing our ambitious decarbonization projects.”
